Let's swap Penny Pockets! Not sure what a penny pocket is? It's a small fabric pocket made of coordinating fabrics, which you can use as decoration or cute storage. Click here for examples and full instructions and pattern: http://thehappyzombie.com/blog/?p=304 You must use the given pattern for this swap! Penny pockets are best made out of 100% cotton (quilting fabric). Heavy fabrics or very thin fabrics will not work on this project. Sewing machine is required. I was recently in a vintage button swap on Swap-Bot, and made a penny pocket to hold the buttons. You can see it on my blog at: http://joanoh2.blogspot.com/2009/01/swapalicious-update.html. You will have 1 partner, and make that partner 3 penny pockets in coordinating colors and prints. I suggest you review your partner's profile to see what colors, styles, etc. he/she likes. Embellish it, edge it with lace or ric rac, add a button, fill it with a little something-something to earn a star. Put a cord hanger from the top, if you like (makes it a bit more useful). Get creative! This is my first time to host a swap on swap-bot, but I assure you I am swap-experienced! Newbies are welcome. USA only. No participants with ratings that show you did not complete a swap. |
