Hey, hello strangers, long time no see! I was thinking that a simple ornament swap might be a good way to jump back in the crafting/swapping game. For this swap you will use a new roll of ribbon. These are the 3 inch round rolls that are sold at all craft and fabric stores, online and even at dollar stores. The ribbon is wrapped between two round pieces of cardboard. You might even have some some of these stashed away, but if not, they are usually very inexpensive...often as little as one dollar. Please use a new roll, not one that's been partially used. First, cover the cardboard on both sides with paint, fabric, paper...whatever. Then decorate one side to your heart's content with embellishments, more paint, words, etc. Make it into an ornament your partner can use over and over again. She will be getting two fun objects in one because she can also use the ribbon. Include a way to hang it. I love this idea! To make it even better, you get to choose if you want to receive a Halloween ornament from your partner, or a Christmas ornament. Post your preference in the comments below and be sure to check what your partner prefers before starting your project. No need to gift wrap, but do make sure it's wrapped well enough to protect it. Include all the important info including your name, group name and swap name. HAVE FUN!!! xo edited to add: It's ok to use any ribbon at all, as long as it's a new, unused roll. No need to match the ribbon to the theme of the ornament. But the cardboard needs to be at least 3" wide, not those little mini rolls. |
