This swap will be a two part swap. I enjoy reading about the queen and just saw her latest portrait for Canada. On her shoulder she had a ribbon against her dress and a brooch on top of the ribbon. These brooches represent different patronages and other honors. Thinking this might be a fun Christmas swap. Let’s make our royal bauble. The first part will be to fold a six inch piece of wide ribbon about 2 1/2” wide. Either stitch the end together or glue neatly and make a square approx 3” long. The stitched end will be to the back of the folded ribbon piece. A simple bow will be added to the top of the 3” piece For the brooch, cut 3 Oval pieces of card stock 1 3/4” long. Glue all three together to make a sturdy pin. On the front place a Christmas icon, Santa, an angel, a snowman, Bells, or holly and clue on top of the 3 pieces of card stock. You may edge the brooch with glitter glue or narrow lace. Affix a pin back or safety pin to the back and pin it onto the ribbon piece. Now, we all shall be a member of royalty! Have fun. Check out photos of the queen for inspiration. |
