Valentine Card Challenge - Repurposed Card Swap

Let's get creatively crafty for Valentine's Day! Spread some joy by turning one of those Christmas cards you received last month into a fabulous one-of-a-kind Valentine's Day card. Sound fun? Then read on.

This is a rather quick swap as Valentine's Day isn't too far off. The card itself is not profile based so you can start on it now.

Swap Details

You will send 1 person the following...

  • Repurposed Valentine's Day Card

Your Challenge - Take a store bought Christmas card and turn it into a Valentine's Day Card. You may use an unused card or a card you previously received. Ad at least 3 different elements to the card to help transform it into a Valentine's Day card. Creatively cover any previous writing or greetings. Incorporate some of the Christmas elements of the card into the Valentine theme. Be creative! Think outside the box! Have fun with this!

Store bought cards only. No postcards or flat cards.

No sticker or washi slapping! Of course you can use those in your crafting but this should be something that you take some time to do. You should be showing off some paper crafting skills here.

  • A Little Something Extra - Add a little something extra along with your card. Take a look at your partner's profile and try to choose something they might like. It doesn't have to be anything too fancy. Just a little surprise.

  • Talk To Your Partner - Take the time to write to your partner. More than just a sentence or two. Tell them about your crafting process transforming the card, about how you'll celebrate your Valentine's Day, a common interest from their profile or anything else you'd like to share. It's always nice to know a little about the person you're receiving from.

This is such a wonderful idea! :) Paper craft swaps usually get a miss from me, since I'm much better at and more interested in crochet and sewing, but this is right up my ally .. Love repurposing and redeeming old things that would normally be thrown away, or sit in a box. Looking forward to the challenge!
