Mono prints are fun and so easy to make. For this swap you will make 2 ATCs for 1 partner. Use inks, gouache, water colour or acrylic paints. Place paint on a piece of glass. Glass from an old picture frame or mirror will do but be careful! Use a roller or a paint brush to spread the paint over an area big enough for your work. You will have to work rather quickly before the paint gets too dry. Using a stick or end of your brush or a pencil, draw a pattern or a quick sketch into the paint. It will be printed in reverse so remember this if adding text. Now place your paper onto your glass and give a quick, even rub with your hand and peel off immediately. You can then choose a section of your picture that is 3 1/3" x 2 1/2" for your ATC... unless you are clever enough to have made a tiny ATC sized drawing. You may decorate and embellish if you wish. The example above is one I did years ago with black gouache and coloured chalk pastels. Remember these are not meant to be 'FINE ART' but are definitely 'FUN ART'; so I hope you will join in and I am sure you will love this technique. I am allowing plenty of time to experiment. The designs you make will be your choice. Don't forget it is important to attach your work to a firm backing and label it appropriately. Open to world wide swappers, no recent no-sends, well filled in profile with a decent rating... although new swappers are also welcome. Please do the right thing and send to your partner. If you are going to be late (stuff happens to us all and we understand) DO send your partner a message. Oh.. and please rate your partner when you receive your ATCs. Message me with any questions or leave a note below. Thats it... enjoy! |
