Description:

September 21 is World Gratitude Day. This celebration started in 1965 in Hawaii when an international gathering decided that it would be a good idea to have one day per year to formally express gratitude and appreciation for the many wonderful things to be found in the world. Following the meeting in Hawaii, many attendees marked Gratitude Day on 21st September 1966 when back in their own countries. Ever since then, the number of people celebrating Gratitude Day across the world has grown and grown.

A regular practice of expressing your gratitude has been show to improve mental and physical health, boost self esteem, enhance empathy, reduce aggression, help people sleep better and improve mental strength.

I thought it would be a great idea to set up a swap to have each of us to write or type a two-page letter expressing our gratitude for the things in our lives. This letter should be a more than a list of things for which you are grateful and should include some detail about the things you note. Let us all be inspired, record our gratitude and share it with others!

This swap will be open to new swappers with completed profiles and swappers that meet the rating minimum requirement, to include no recent 1s or 3s. I will vet swappers before assigning partners and angel should this be required.

In celebration of this day, I will mail a blank gratitude journal to one lucky swapper I chose via random drawing. All swappers in good standing, who complete this swap with a 5 rating, will be eligible for the drawing, which will take place before the end of October, to allow time for all swaps to be received and rated, since this is an international swap.

Checking profiles in preparation for this swap closing tomorrow. Had to ban a few users due to late swaps on their dashboards.

Despite two e-mail reminders, we have three swappers who did not mail by the deadline: @heidiblooms @SGriffin and @BethiquaC They will be removed from the drawing for the journal. I will be in touch with them and their partners to assure everyone gets a swap.

I have messaged my partner to explain the circumstances of the hurricane damage and the 24 hour delay in mailing.
