AMA: Urban Sketching Postcard

"What urban sketching really is, is making sketching a daily part of your life, so that your creativity and your art-making becomes folded into all that you do. When you look through the pages of your sketchbook, you see your explorations, memories, creative moments and artful adventures all in one place. A diary of your artistic journey."

For this swap, you'll be required to paint / sketch a regular sized postcard (4"x6" or 5"x7") for your partner of a scene in your city or neighbourhood. It can be a community building or a house that you've always loved, or it could even be the inside of your favourite cafe or restaurant (if restaurants are open in your area, of course). The idea is to get out and sketch on scene instead of drawing from a photo reference, but if there are time/covid/weather restrictions feel free to sketch as much or as little on scene and finish the rest at home - there's no right or wrong way!

On the back, tell your partner about your sketch - is it important to you? Why did you pick it? Or if there was any funny stories from your sketching experience. And as always, include the swap name, date, and your username somewhere on the card.

As the postcards are senders choice, you can get started on your postcard early and have it ready by the send date. You can use any medium, just make sure that if you use thin paper you glue to onto a solid backing so it holds up in the mail. Postcards are to be sent naked unless specifically requested otherwise on your partners profile.
