Draw or paint a bookmark for your swap partner and mail it to them!
For finding a theme, please look at your partner's profile and choose one of their likes. Avoid their dislikes (obviously).
The size should be at least 3.8 x 10 cm (1.5'' x 3.9''); can be larger. Also, if you're feeling crafty, you are to allowed to (but not obliged!) make a shaped bookmark. (In that case, parts of your bookmark may be thinner than the requirements for a rectangular bookmarks say.) Use paper or cardboard that's sturdy enough not to crinkle easily. (Something as thick as a postcard or watercolor paper would be good.)
One one side, draw or paint the chosen motif. The other side, you can leave blank or unicolor, or you can use decorative paper. (You can also draw or paint something there, or write a dedication. This is optional.)
Make sure the bookmark is USEABLE! That means: Don't use colors that will rub off on your swap partner's book pages. If you use pastels or watercolors, fix them with suitable varnish. Do NOT use any chunky embellishments (like rhinestones); no one wants rhinestone imprints in their books! You may (but are not obliged to) add a cord or tassel to one side of the bookmark, but that's it. No other chunky stuff - no acrylic structure paste, either. You may (but are not obliged to) laminate your bookmark if you have the option to do so. Otherwise, please just make sure it's flat and nothing comes off.
