Dear Ladies, Let us indulge in a pleasant pursuit to keep us busy on an afternoon when we must stay indoors. I propose a scavenger hunt to amuse you. To make the swap more of an adventure, use your existing stores of craft items to fulfil your list of items to send your partner. Some of the items on the list are as they are written, for example, “2 book pages” means two book pages, but for those other, less defined items, such as “Something Jane Austen” be creative, it could be a quote from her written prettily, an image of her or one of her books or even one of her characters, a page from one of her books or whatever else your imagination may conjure up. All items must be inspired by the Georgian/Regency time period, so any bonnet rather than a more modern one. Once you begin to think on the list of items, you will see how easily things occur to you, look through your stores and be inspired. Most of all, have fun with this swap. Send your items in a pretty envelope with a note to your partner, perhaps from your character. Here are the details of the swap: Choose five items from the list below to send your partner that have the flavour of the Georgian/Regency Era. Make a list of your items with the choice from the list and the item you have chosen to represent it. For example: A Journal Embellishment – embellished paper clip. With your items, write a nice note to your partner and send it all in an envelope you have decorated nicely. Items to choose from: A Purple Envelope A flower A Journal Embellishment An 18th Century Recipe 3 Stickers 2 Book Pages Something Tea Related A Regency Lady Something Jane Austen A Blue Tag 12 inch length of lace 12 inch length of ribbon Something with Stripes (A favourite pattern of our time) A Calling Card A Fan A Parasol A Quill A Wax Seal A Regency Gentleman A Bonnet Please feel free to ask any questions, we are always happy to help. |
