These envelopes look adorable and easy to make. No sewing involved. These would be a great little craft to send to your partner or to make them yourself for in your junk journal! For this swap we will be following Pam at the Paper Outpost. She shows us two drop down envelopes. The one we will be making starts at the 1:08 minute, it uses 3 bookpages. We will use 3 standard size bookpages or music pages. It doesn't matter if they are new or vintage pages, just make sure they are the same size. Pay close attention to how she glues the pages together. Let it dry first and then fold it twice as she does leaving a small tab. From there she pulls the tab back and makes a small snip at the sides to cut the corners. It doesn't have to be exact. There are no specific measurements. There should be 3 mini pockets to tuck things in. Pam also decorates the back but we won't be so in case someone wants to use it in their journal. You may decorate as you like but please add some simple Autumn themed embellishments. The faux stitching is an option as is the ink distressing on the edges. If the tab sticks out a little because the envelope is a bit thick you can make a little button/string or other closure for it. Pam's tutorial starts here To recap! One drop down envelope with 3 small pockets In each pocket add 1 or 2 washi stickers, cute pieces of scraps, stamped images that kind of thing. We don't want this to be thick and bulky. It shouldn't weigh more than a stamp (20grams) This is a type 3 swap. Remember to write your name and the name of this swap on or in your lightly decorated envelope. If you have any questions or problems just message me! Happy Swapping! |
