Description:

This is a Swap for all you readers out there that need some bookmarks. I have seen bookmark swaps in the past and now I am opening my own.

Instead of folding down the corners of your pages this is the place to be. This is where you will have to be creative when you design a book mark.

These bookmarks all need to be designed with Scrapbook materials, paper, digital, printed cut outs, and etc. The backing must be in cardstock and not flimsy paper. The only thing that will not be paper would be the tassel at the end.

ALL bookmarks must have a tassel at the end.

We will have 2 partners and you will have to send out 3 bookmarks each to your partner. So that is a total of 6 bookmarks that you will be designing all together. Each partner will recieve 3 bookmarks.

If you have any no sends I will ban you from this group - I will be checking over your profiles. I am very strict on this. (if there was a lost in the mail situation then you had best contact me ASAP and let me know that you have sent it out to that person) This is only fair to others that make special things and send things out and those who do not want to play fair and have any no sends rates of "1" then you will be banned.

BE CREATIVE & HAVE SOME FUN WITH THEM!

NO DULL BOOKMARKS ALLOWED (In otherwords no bookmarks slapped on with one item)

These must be

FUN!

WILD!

CREATIVE!

Can you use rubber stamp art on the bookmarks?

holmesgal 04/20/2007 #

Yes you can that is just like a scrapbook item :) I just don't want any like crocheting - knitted books marks - Anything to do with scrapbooking FANTASTIC! ENJOY!

Does it have to be a tassel on the end or can we do a variation like say a charm or other items?

holmesgal 04/24/2007 #

As long as it has something on the end of the bookmark :) HAVE FUN!

Could it be fabric? If you used fusible web it would be quite firm. And I know you say no knit or crochet, but could the tassel be knit or crocheted?

A note for Catherine Wallace: I am having a hard time with rating you on this swap. I don't want to be ugly, but these have got to be the cast-off and rejects from the bottom of your stash, or garage-sale leftovers. One is yarn on punched paper. It's worn and dirty, no tassel. The next is an old souvenir bookmark featuring New York- ok for a swap of vintage bookmarks, but a little disappointing here. The plastic covering is old and warped, and there is no tassel, just a raggedy string on the end. The third one is a piece of white cardstock, one edge is cut in a wave pattern. There are 6 Suzy's Zoo stickers on one side, and there are two layers of cheap plastic applied to both sides, with a hole punched in the end and a piece of yarn tied through- which fell off when I lifted it from the envelope. It looks like it was cut from something else and another layer of plastic was applied. I am describing these in fairly good detail just so that all the swappers see that I'm not being nasty. I really have a hard time believing you would want to receive these in a swap. They don't even come close to meeting the requirements, and they are just cheap and tacky.
