how do we rate/get a heart?

Usually people rate according to rating guidelines as everybody can see in rating box; and usually one gets a heart when partner decides to give it. Any try on host's part to force people to rate some other way is to be frowned upon...

After we receive the info. about each of the swaps that other partners are hosting do we have to join those swaps? I'm not too clear what you mean Pahasiga how we are going to rate our partners?
