Can the fabrics be all differnt reds for example or do they need to be all of the colors above?

Ghene 06/22/2006 #

You can choose which shades they are as long as each are different. Or even better, as long as they can be matched together. It doesnt have to be strictly olours stated as above.

Example: I can send: -1m plain red oxford fabric, -matched it up with one 18x22inch red floral print fabric , -then one 18x22inch beige plain cotton fabric (for lining), -and one 18x22inch red geometric designed fabric

Since I don't know how to quilt but I know how to make bags, I can make two red bags with these.

I am especially interested in micro fleece and cotton or cotton/hemp blends for diaper making, but I can use most any fabric suitable for quilting. I'm pretty flexible, and love trying new fabrics! I look forward to participating in this swap.

Cheers!

I use 100% cotton - quilting fabric mostly and my favorite prints are vintage reproductions, esp. with little animals and dots. I like all colors that would be good for babies, as I make a lot of baby clothes and crib quilts. I also make handbags, so heavier cottons are fine for those. You can see what I make on my blog: http://starlitnest.blogspot.com

I make handbags + totes. I just made a new tote the other night using canvas, and I love it. So heavier fabrics like canvas + upolstry would be nice. I also do embellishments on them like apples, where I cut out the shape and sew it on. You can check out my blog to see what I make: www.srdesigns.blogspot.com

I am so excited about this swap! I love making bags, and do a lot of quilting as well. I really like vintage and 40's and 50's reproduction fabrics. I like asian inspired prints as well. I would love heavier fabric for bags or 100% cotton for quilting. Thanks!

user1938 07/ 5/2006 #

I'm a hand quilter so I use 100% cotton fabrics. Lately I've been loving 1930's fabrics (reproductions are fine), asian/japanese fabrics, 100% wool pieces (especially in red) and any older tablecloth, feedsack or canvas type prints. Vintage anything makes me happy, except I do not like peach. If my partner is from a non-USA country, I would love a small piece of fabric that is native to your country/region, etc... This should be fun! Kris http://www.collagecontessa.blogspot.com

QUESTION: Are we contacting our person to tell them we have them and when we send, or is it a secret?

Ghene 07/ 6/2006 #

Nope it is a secret swap ContessaKris.

user1600 07/ 6/2006 #

I don't know how to quilt, but I like to make dresses and hats. So nice printed fabrics would be lovely for me. Thank you!

Wanted to post that we've been out of town for a few weeks and just got back in this weekend. I haven't had a chance to mail my package out but it goes today. Hope my person enjoys!

I haven't received a package yet, but I'm looking forward to it!

user1938 08/ 7/2006 #

Has anyone heard from the hostes? I emailed her about not receiving a package but have yet to hear back. Just hoping I get a package soon.

ContessaKris, I did not get your message. Your package was sent weeks ago and it should be there this week or very soon. Let us hope the customs don't keep it long. The package I sent the same day was already received.
