Description:

Greetings MM&L members...we come in peace...or do we? It's time for round #3 in the Alien ATC series ~ I hope you're not tired of this theme yet!

For this Alien ATC swap, we will be creating 1 ATC for 1 partner that depicts crop circles!

Crop circles, if you don't already know, are large scale patterns created by flattening crops! As they require crops for their formation, they only appear during crop growing seasons. The phenomenon is commonly thought to have first begun in the 1970s, though some believe they were around even earlier. Most often appearing overnight, these patterns tend to be found in fields near roads, areas with medium to dense populations, and near cultural monuments such as Stonehenge. While this would suggest a human origin, and thus imply they are likely hoaxes or publicity stunts, many believe they are extraterrestrial in origin. So let's all suspend our disbelief and imagine they are definitely for sure made by aliens! Because they totally...for sure...are...And you can't tell me otherwise!

You may search up images of photographed crop circles to use as inspiration or feel free to create your own unique design! You are not limited in what you can create here so get as creative as you'd like! If you use a real crop circle photo for inspiration it might be fun to include a note letting your partner know the details (when & where) so they can read about it on their own if they'd like, but this is not required.

Swap rules are as follows:

  • Create 1 ATC for 1 partner that depicts one (or many) crop circles! The card may be hand drawn, painted, collaged or mixed media. Please do not use stickers in your crop circle creation and try to keep it relatively flat if you use any embellishments.

  • Standard ATC rules apply: 2.5" x 3.5" size, portrait or landscape, using any medium created with effort, add a sturdy backing if you are not using thick cardstock, write on the back name of the swap + your username, first name + last initial OR sign it if you like, & put the card in a protective sleeve of some sort.

  • I'm extending the usual time frame I use for non-custom group ATC swaps and you will have 3 weeks to create your ATC. As always you can create it ahead of time if you'd like and have it ready to send to your partner when they are assigned.

  • Please rate promptly once you've received your ATC and rate a 5 if all rules were followed; hearts may be given at your own discretion if you love the ATC! Extras are not required nor are they discouraged.

  • Please communicate with both your partner AND myself if you will be late getting your swap out. I will angel in the case of flaking after you have communicated (or attempted to) with your partner and rated them.

Please message me if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you for joining and participating in the group swaps ~ Happy swapping Earthlings!
