Dear Friends, While we sat enjoying our tea in the Church tea tent at the fete, Lady Caroline, Leandrea Wallis and I spent a very pleasurable afternoon speaking of warm summer days and picnics, which lead to us making plans for an excursion to Hobbs Hill for anyone in the village who should like to join us. August 25th is the day we have chosen for our outing and we hope you will all join us. Several carriages have been arranged, or you may choose to ride alongside as we make our way to the summit of the hill. You may bring your own repast or share in the hampers Lady Caroline, Leandrea Wallis and I will commission from our cooks. Please do join us, the afternoon shall be filled with leisurely walks to admire the views, and when we are weary from our rambling, we shall enjoy our lunch under the shade of the trees, and then, perhaps explore a while longer. If you are tempted by our invitation, please do join us. With anticipation, Lady Elizabeth The Details For this swap, we shall be creating something inspired by our picnic. You may draw, paint or collage a view from the hill. You could make something with flowers you have picked and pressed, or perhaps trace leaves from the trees to create a pretty little something for your partner. Be inspired by sunny, summer days, delicious picnics and the company of friends. One item is all you need to create. Use your imagination to create a pretty note card for your partner, or if the views have inspired you to write a verse or two of poetry, write your words on a nice card for your partner to save in their journal. You may even wish to share your tastiest picnic recipe. Once you have created your remembrance of our picnic, write a little note in character to your swap partner, telling them of the things that inspired your keepsake. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have, we’re happy to help in any way we can. |
