If you have always wanted a Hope Chest you will so enjoy this swap. The swap is in 3 parts and is a bit time consuming. Which is why it will be ending in July. The last date to sign up is very close so you can have your partners name early. A hope chest in the early days was compromised of many items. Hope Chests were filled and then given to their daughter when they married. They would use the item’s in their home and keep the tradition alive. We will be putting a spin on the concept and bringing it more up to today’s time. Part 1 - We will be decorating or purchasing an already made sewing basket or paper mache type chest. The sewing basket or chest should be a medium or large size. Please look at your partners profile to get an idea of what colors they like. That is the first part of the swap. Part 2 - Please consider what type of craft your partner likes to do. Fill the chest with those types of item’s that they will love the minimum amount before shipping should be around $25.00. That is the second part of the swap. Part 3 - You will craft at least 5 item’s you think your partner will love. Check out the ideas that I put below for some help. The most Important part is to make sure that the chest you send is beautiful well thought out and something you would want to receive. Take care in the item’s you create and do not send used or dirty item’s . Your partner will hopefully want to display their chest in their craft room. For a few ideas read on. Sewing Chest -Fabrics, ribbons, buttons, thread ,needles, seam ripper, embroidery thread, Things to make pin cushion, stuffie, quilt block, ornament, embroidery piece, just something you have sewed with love. Yarn Chest - Hand spun or other just no acrylic yarn, knitting needles, pattern, needle gauge, point protectors. Things to make stitch markers, stuffie, bag, ect. Scrap book Chest - Paper, deco scissors, gel pens, charms, stickers, flowers, brads, ribbon, photo album, eyelets,.. Things you can make scrapbook layout ,postcards, hand made card or stationary. ATC Chest - Emphera, distress Inks, rubber stamps, glue, old newspaper articles, magazine clippings, stamps, vintage item’s.. Things you can make ATC’s ,post cards, collage art. If you do ATC’s or you sew but do not knit. Then you can exchange them in other words you can send a sewn item to an ATC person. This is meant to be fun and wonderful and we should all strive for hearts. So even if you do get a sewer or knitter but you don’t do either of those then send what you do create. Just make sure that the rest of the package does fall into their chosen art. If you have any questions please let me know. RULES This is the un fun part some times. Please follow the rules for a fabulous swap. 1.Please make sure you have at least a 4.5 before you can join and no ‘more then 1 no send. 2.Please make sure your profile is completely filled out especially for this swap. Your partner cannot make your chest if they don’t know what to send to you. 3.Newbies are welcomed with a completely filled out profile and yes I will be checking your name against the bad swappers list. 4.Please allow sufficient time for your partner to get your items to you. Mail can take awhile and I will be allowing this swap to be sent surface mail. 4.This swap is only open to US and Canada. 5.Send only new and gently used item’s please. Chances are if you don’t want then neither does your partner. 6.Have a really good time putting this together. |
