Description:

I have seen a lot of international Christmas card swaps (including a handmade one I think) with a send date in December. I don't know about your mail system, but I know in Canada they say that you have to mail international mail in November to even have a hope of making it there by Christmas! So I thought I would host a swap with a closer send date, it's a quick and easy swap.

Make (not computer print out or bought) 10 Christmas cards, write a little hello and a Merry Christmas - put them in envelopes, address them and send them off! If you'd like you could add some handmade gift tags or some a little extra. (NOT a requirement though) All handmade items could easily be done in advance. Everything is SENDER's choice.

Newbies welcome (filled out profiles) and NO flakers please! We want everybody to have a happy holiday season!!

If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to PM me.

Aw...it is way too far out. And my watchlist is already busting at the seams with stuff that is closer.

I'm going to send mine blank ... with a note on separate paper ... so the cards can be used again. I love hand-made cards!

Thank you so much for this swap. I have a very small family and would love to send and receive Christmas cards but I have a very short list. I'm really going to enjoy this swap. Thanks again.

Am I correct in thinking that this swap is simply to send a handmade Christmas card to our nominated swap partners? Sorry but I'm new here and want to make sure I'm getting it right :)

Yes, instead of sending out store bought cards, you make some and send them out.

I have over 200 used Christmas cards that can be used for this purpose. I'll trade a 5x7 envie full for a decorative thimble, souvenir spoon, souvenir magnet, souvenir thimble or 20 new, 4x6, modern postcards. I'll also trade for earrings - one new pair or 2 good quality used as long as they are not orange, purple, gray or green.

I'm not sure that's the intent, but that's what I intend to do ... and that's what I would prefer to receive as well.

Zanara 10/28/2009 #

Well my intent was to have people write on the cards but Mom whined ;) (she'd prefer to get them not signed, whereas I wanted them signed) so it's not manditory, you can do it anyway you'd like, senders choice. BUT if you're not writing on the card please include a note, thanks.

Are religious themed cards ok or is that taboo?
