1 pass & paste PC for one partner

Pass and Paste postcards are a fun form of handcrafted collaborative Mail Art.

  • Cut postcard weight paper to postcard size

  • Divide the front side of the PC into 3 or 4 equal sections.

  • Decorate section 1. The postcard may eventually be mailed naked so securely adhere items to your section.

  • Turn the PC over. 1/3 of the postcard should be where you put your address, leaving room at the upper right for a postage stamp. The other 2/3rds of the back of the postcard should be divided into 3 or 4 equal writing sections. If you decorated section 1 on the front side...then you will write in section 1 on the backside. This is where you leave a your username, and which Pass & Paste swap you are doing (for example Pass & Paste Collaborative Postcard #341054), and anything else if there's room.

  • Note: Do not include postage on the postcard because the last person sending it home may not be from the same country as you!

  • Any medium (drawing, watercolour, markers, acrylic, collage, mixed media, etc.).

  • The theme is sender's choice. The postcard can have a theme, or it can be an open theme postcard.

You may use an established pass & paste postcard but if you are partnered up with someone new to pass & paste PCs I suggest that you start a new PC.

Join P&P postcard swaps to move these collaborative postcards along. See my profile, I usually have a P&P PC swap happening.

The goal is to have each space filled out by a different artist, and then sent home to the originator.

When you receive a postcard with only one empty square left, decorate it and mail it back naked. But if the finished PC is particularly fragile, lumpy, or things not adhered well, or wet weather is an issue, go ahead and send in a sleeve or envelope, though naked is preferred.

If you receive an unfinished Pass & Paste postcard please always send it on, even if you decide not to participate any longer. At the very least, send it back to the original creator. Or send it to me (P.O. Box 31013 Willowwest, Guelph, Ontario N1H 8K1 Canada) and I will forward it on. That way everyone should eventually get their postcard back.

If you are assigned the creator as a partner, do not send them their uncompleted postcard. Start a new PC.

If you get assigned a partner and they have already worked on that PC, then hold it and send it in the next round to a different partner or please send it to me. Send your partner a new PC.

If anyone posts their finished PCs on social media (Flickr, Instagram, FB, YouTube, etc.), I would love a link to your post so I can see the results.

If you have unfinished P&P postcards and decide not to swap P&Ps anymore, send it to the originator or you can send it/them to me (P.O. Box 31013 Willowwest, Guelph, Ontario N1H 8K1 Canada).

Hosting Style:

The rating requirement is 4.98 but I may make exceptions for:

  • A well-explained low rating
  • Those who have had a successfully completed private swap with me.
  • Newbies with less than 6 months experience on Swap-Bot but who have completed a successful private swap with me.

I will do private swaps with people who are new and need experience. You will need a filled out profile. No double-profilers. You must be 18 years and older to use this site.

I check every rating and read all comments. No blank comments. And, I would like to see more than just a "Thank you" comment. I live vicariously through those comments. A description of the postcard would be nice.
