Being Easter, The Greatest Story Ever Told, and The Ten Commandments were on TV. This got me thinking... What if you went on the Great Exodus with Moses and took your matchbox;would it end up being parted in two after you crossed the Red Sea? Or if you were on the Mount of Olives listening to Jesus, would it be blessed and multiplied by thousands like the bread and fish (well, God loves artfully done stuff too!)?

Or if you saw Beethoven,Mozart,Nicolai Tesla,Marie Antoinette in all their benchmark moments, what tale would your matchbox tell?

The idea is to visit a particular place in time, and decorate your matchbox accordingly, and write a short note explaining what happened.

Example: "Dropped in to see Shakespeare today. He was having writer's block, and told me I could have the papers on the desk. Turns out it was the rough draft for Romeo and Juliette."

And your matchbox would be decorated with quotes or images from Romeo and Juliette. Or anything romantic.

The note can be written separately. Please, unless you just happen to have things that fit the bill, don't worry about matching the matchbox contents to the time period. Just all the fun, profile friendly stuff is fine.

This could be a bit of a challenge, but then again, it's what makes it interesting! This is a group swap, so all the technical stuff is covered. There is plenty of time to do research,I'm giving a month.

This is to be fun, light and I guess a little historically incorrect. I don't know what would happen if a thousand decorated matchboxes landed up on the Mount of Olives...

PM me if there are any questions.

LOL ! I'm joining this one, just as soon as that "you've reached your max" message disappears. This will be a lot of fun to create.

What if its a fictional character in the past, I would love to do Scarlett O'Hara from Gone With The Wind?
