Dearest Ladies of Amberleigh, As every woman and her daughters are aware, a Husswife or Housewife, is an essential article to include in your sewing workbag. A husswife contains your needle book, spare needles, hooks and eyes, threads and scissors. This item is straightforward to make, has four to five pockets within and a tie to wrap around the body of it. Yours in friendship, Lady Caroline THIS IS AN EMAIL PHOTO'S ONLY SWAP **- but we have marked it as a type 3 as it is an intensive craft. **DO NOT SEND YOUR HUSSWIFE. This swap is for the item pictured in the swap heading. Here is a 4 pocket easy hussif Here is a hussif using scraps & with optional accessories YOU MAY GLUE YOUR HUSSWIFE TOGETHER AS DIRECTED WHERE THE STITCHING LINES ARE INDICATED ON YOUR HUSSIF, USING FABRIC GLUE - IF YOU DO NOT FEEL CONFIDENT WITH STITCHING. For this swap, you will if you please, follow the link(s) provided and make yourself a hussif or housewife roll. You will have a whole month to complete this project. The second hussif link has several accessories if you feel adept and up for a further challenge. Once complete, take some photos of the back and front of it, perhaps rolled up aswell, and email those photographs to your partner. Please add a note in your Characters voice telling of any trials or tribulations or elation and joys at the making of your hussif. We hope many of you will join with us. For those new to our group, and if you have no clue what one is - a WORKBAG eg.pictured here is very much like a shoe or library bag, in a pretty fabric, but can be as elaborate as you wish. It houses all of your necessaries in pertaining to stitching, embroidery, clothes sewing, netting, knotting or knitting or crochet etc. It is called "a necessary" in some circles. I put this image here so that you might make yourself one at your leisure. If you want a swap for this item, let me know in the comments or message one of us. As always, if you need help or direction please do not hesitate to contact us. Anna, Nickalli, Jane |
