Let me begin by saying (early) Happy Christmas in July Crappas! Let's make it a joyous, happy crappy Christmas-ey July by starting it off with these scavenger style Christmas Surprise Yarn Balls. Have I made one before? No. But they look amazing and seem easy to put together. I find it intriguing that you can bind all sorts of cool crap together with ribbon and fiber crap! Then have a creation that turns out to be a luscious ball of crap nirvana! What could be better??? First the necessary mumbo jumbo~ Send on time, don't flake, send stuff you'd want to recieve.....we know the jazz. THIS IS A GROUP MEMBERS ONLY SWAP *Here is the holly jolly skinny: ~The instructions for these lovely surprise balls are on GoMakeSomething.com under.....surprise balls. Ours will be combined with a nifty craptastic twist. A Christmas themed scavenger hunt! Keep in mind that most of the items are little/small goodies that fall out as you unwrap the ball. Something a little larger or a small bundle goes in the middle. This could be a very fun swap that wouldn't be on the costly side AND super crapalicious all the while :) ~You will make one yarn ball for one partner. Just to make this extra fun, please include a little tag/card with your partner's precioussss surprise ball that has one of the following : an interesting fact or legend about Christmas, a special Christmas tradition you celebrate, favorite Christmas memory, or even a Christmas recipe. ~Use Christmas themed yarn, fibers, ribbon, lace, crepe paper. Think reds, greens, gold, silvers, whites.... Use anything that will bind the crappy goodies together like the directions for the project state. Just make sure that the outer layer (or the last layer) is made of yarn. If your partner absolutely hates yarn then try ribbon or lace for the outer layer. Novelty yarns, eyelash types have a nice stretchy fibery look that would work well for these. Get creative, go nuts. ~Below is a list of scavenger hunt items that you must include in the surprise ball. The scavenger list items below are the minimum you must have in your ball. If you want to add extras, knock yourself out. But it isn't a requirement. SCAVENGER HUNT CHRISTMAS BALL ITEMS
This swap will have extra crafting time in case you are looking for/ordering any of the surprise items. Have a craplicious, Christmas-ey ball crappas! rim shot (Sorry...the ball pun was just to much to resist) |
