Description:

** I have changed it up just a little so please read throughly**

This is a "Block of the Month" project, and will continue each month until we will then be able to piece them all together, into a quilt! If you have any specific color choices, please list them here - but please leave the design and construction of the pieces, to the creator.

You will have two partners for this swap. You will make two quilt squares for each of your two partners (a total of 4 squares - all the same, or all different - your choice). This is an INTERNATIONAL Swap (These pieces will be lightweight and easily mailed.)

Square Details:

The squares will measure 10.5" x 10.5" "raw edge to raw edge" - when sewn together, they will then measure 10" x 10" square. Square design and construction is SENDERS choice. Senders, please try to honor COLOR requests by your partner Squares can be hand or machine stitched Use whatever technique you wish. These can be pieced, appliqued, embroidered, embellished with beads, buttons, fancy stitching, etc. Use all cotton or cotton/polyester blend (nothing "stretchy" please) Please "sign" your squares, either by embroidering your initials, or your first name, on at least ONE of your squares, to send to your partner. This are the squares that will make up the quilt top. There is no batting or backing on the individual squares.

Swap Details:

You must have a rating of at least 4.8, with no-sends. You will have a MONTH to complete each round. Please do NOT sign up for this swap if you do not think you can commit to a longer term goal - this will go on each month of 2009 If you did not sign up for all 12 rounds in 2009 you will not have as many squares at the end of the year, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t join in!! You can either just make a lap quilt or if there is interest we can extend the series, or you can alternate your swapped squares with solid squares, sashing, or your own squares to make a bigger quilt. Any questions, post them here, or message me.

~~A message from the swap series originator, gramsbuttonbox Please put some heart into these squares - I have made quilts from fabrics sent from all over the world, and every one of them warms my heart! (check out my website to see what I mean!)

gramsbuttonbox - was the 1st owner, I am the 3rd owner *Craftlover10101 Since taking over I will have to change some dates on this because it will be started later in the month. If anyone knows anyone from the previous swaps please contact them and have them check out the remake/continuance to see if they may want to rejoin. The 2nd owner has been suspended and before hand asked for someone to take it over. I hope my doing this doesnt upset anyone. Enjoy and have fun!*

I am working on a traditional Christmas quilt, so my colors will be primarily red, green, cream, black and white.

I´m happy for either homespun squares or green, red and blue (dark colurs if possible).

I´m very happy this swap continues!

@Kicki not to sound stupid, but what is homespun fabric?

Kicki 04/26/2009 #

It´s the kind of fabric you ca find at for example www.memesquilts.com (but too expensive there, at least for my pocket!), they look like old farmhouse quilts (striped, checkered and so on). They are slightly thicker than ordinary quilting cottons, like the ones you make towels of. All-purpose-fabric really :). The good thing is that these fabrics are almost always cheaper too.
