Folklore of the Trees We will be starting a new series swap this year. The focus will be on the Trees of England. Each swap will focus on a different Tree and introduce The Folklore of the Tree. (Information taken from www.discoverwildlife.com) We will start you off with some basic information and once you are partnered you will send your partner something for their journal.
For this first swap we’ll focus on: The Ash Tree (Fraxinus excelsior) Ash trees were thought to have healing properties, especially for children. Newborn babies would be given a spoonful of ash sap and sick children would be passed through the cleft of a tree or sapling in the hope that it might cure them. We hope you enjoy this new series!
