Dear Georgettes, In honour of one of our members who has sadly passed from difficulties with her breathing sometime last year, and for this Valentines Day swap, we would like to celebrate @ShabbyJules life in a memento valentine card that she has placed on her blog back in 2014. As she was an avid lover of dolls and shabby chic, how about we send one another a fru fru card, with a Georgian Lady in full dress as the theme. Get out the rococco swirls, lace, pearl stickons and make a gorgeous Georgette card. It might be Marie Antoinette, or Madame du Pompadour, or if you prefer a demure Regency lady. But a skirted lady please. On the back of the 'Lady Valentine' write a little something about friendship and its meaning to you. Vale Julie Dodd, you were a dear heart. This statement was featured on her blog and felt it most poignant: Grace and remembrance be to you both. William Shakespeare You shall have one partner for this swap. I have marked this as a Type 3 swap, and if your card has any protrusions please cover these with a protector insert, as we always put into our cards more than just a simple open card. Also to help our stray envelopes from disappearing in the mail that nearly everyone one of us experienced our own letters not arriving to its destination, please ensure your sides of your envelopes are sticky taped firmly. These modern postal machines rip into our envelopes making them tattered and useless and missing in action. So if this has happened to you over the last few months, this may be the reason it went missing and not delivered. Cheaper versions of Washi tape is apt to peel off and not stay stuck on the envelope edges, I have had to glue mine on when noticing it lifted at the corners etc. As always please confer with us if any confusion or problems arise, Nickalli, Anna and Jane. |
