Year of the Snake

2025 is the Year of the Snake. Let's create a Zine, Mail Art, or other Cool Stuff (see what I did there?) recognizing the Chinese New Year.

There is a rich trove of lore to be discovered about snakes, one of the oldest and most universal symbols in human culture. Here is some, and here is more .

The lunar new year of the Snake begins at the new moon on January 29, so that will be our sign up date. And the end of the lunar month is the next new moon, February 26, so that will be our send by date.

Any medium is acceptable: a zine exploring snake symbolism or Chinese astrological attributes, a drawing, painting, collage, post card (made by you), or decorated envelope. I'll be carving a stamp which will join the other "Year of..." stamps I've made, and I would encourage others to do that, but I'll not restrict this swap to carvings only.

So, make your art, send to two partners, and have a happy, creative, subtle, elegant, and transformative New Year of the Snake.
