Description:

Artists will work on the front side of the postcard to create a collaborative collage.

Here's my example. I started this postcard with the hands pouring a kettle.

And here's the finished postcard after 3 more rounds:

First round, cut out a postcard blank from sturdy cardstock. Create the first element(s) of the postcard. Address the backside of the postcard to yourself. Include the country (because it may end up in another country before coming back to you). Divide the writing portion into 4 sections, for collaborating artists to write their user name, swap name, and the items they added to the PC. You write in the first section.

Here's the back of my tea kettle postcard before I mailed to to swapper #2.

Add your email address to the first section on the back of your postcard. It will be helpful when returning the card. If it's been travelling for a while some swappers like to check that the address is still the same, so the finished postcard doesn't end up lost and the postage wasted.

Each artist will add 1-3 elements. Avoid the use of thick embellishments. No extra lettermail postage should be required because the postcard is too thick for the mail slot. Describe the elements you added in your section on the back of the card.

Mail the postcard in an envelope to protect the art. When the maximum number of artists/spaces is reached, mail it in a clear envelope, or regular envelope to protect the art.

If you are assigned a partner whose postcard is the card you have in your possession, or has signed it already, start a new postcard, and hold onto the PC until the next round.

You can join anytime. I hope to continue this "Collaborative Collage Postcard" for many rounds.

It is not required to sign up for every round, but if you decide to stop participating altogether, please forward any incomplete PCs to me and I will pass them on.
