This is a swap for Canadian and U.S. swappers only.
We will create for one partner a chunky row house that is vintage themed. (For those that have never made a chunky house before, having just one house to make should be manageable and not as intimidating)
Size:each house should be between 3†and 4†wide, and no more than 7†tall.
Shape: should be shaped like a house, however houses do come in many different shapes and some have chimmneys, some do not so you can be fairly creative here (just see above for size requirements)
The house should be decorated with the vintage theme in mind in whatever medium you choose, but do try to make it chunky- meaning add some embellishements and really spend some time creating a wonderful piece of art that you are proud of.
Please ensure that the house is made out of a strong base - plain old paper is not sufficient, you want something sturdy that can handle layers of stuff. (cereal cardboard, etc)
Some people like to run with the house theme and will include windows, doors etc as well as decorations while others just go with the house shape and use it as a canvas, if that makes sense, both are fine and it comes down to the artists choice.
The front of the house will be the most decorated, however the back can be decorated as well, and can include the artists name, the date, etc (much like the idea of ATC'S)
Most importantly have fun making your art house, if there is enough interest maybe we could get more public swaps going for row houses as the group on here for houses wont let anyone else join :( and I really love collecting these little houses as they look so cute all together in a row.
When mailing your chunky house it is a good idea to try and protect them from getting bent.
As coordinator, I will be checking to make sure swappers who join are in good standing in terms of the rating system and meet the location requirements (usa and canada).
Please make sure to send the houses out on or before June 12, 2009 and be sure to rate your partner upon receiving your magical little house
- Any questions just ask and happy swapping! :)
