Oh gather ye 'round and let me tell you a tale! of times gone by and the people who dwelt, living happily and heartily and sometimes mischievously, but nonetheless they are our subjects most readily! So, ladies and gentlemen, our subjects or theme for this series is The Canterbury Tales by Geoffrey Chaucer. Now some people may think these tales may be boring, but not so! Some are quite hilarious and read like a medieval soap opera and at the time they were considered very scandalous indeed! The requirements are this... I am not going to make anyone read the stories, but if you wish to for inspiration that is fine too! Since I am not requiring folks to read these stories you may get your inspiration from the title's name as well, like in this one as long as it has something that relates to the tale or the miller's situation you should be good. You can even use quotes from the tales on your ATC, just whatever inspires you. (Note: This tale is a bit bawdy so be forewarned). Also, look online for brief summaries about the stories without having to read them all through. Like this link, for example: The Miller's Tale. For those of you who read the stories please give a brief description of the scene or images you choose and pass a little of your knowledge of the story to your partner. You will make 1 ATC for each of your two partners for a total of 2 ATC's. You may hand draw, use collage, paint, markers, fabric, embellishments, whatever you can think of to express your creativity for these tales. Please no recent no-sends or unexplained 1's for this swap, rating of 4.9 or higher please. If you have a question or comment please pm me or leave it below! There are many entertaining stories collected within the tales and there are 8 total (I know that technically there are many more tales from the other fragments but these 8 are the most well known)! So, we will be doing 8 total swaps to cover each of the tales. I hope we have a good show for #1 and the rest will soon follow, about 1 every 2-3 weeks. Let the storytelling begin! |
