A week or so ago, a member had sent a post to the group about starting an altered art kit for a friend. I love this idea, but wanting to keep in the tradition of the 39Cent project, I have scaled it down a bit. So this month, we will be trading copied project sheets from a book, or hand written desciption of how to do a small art project (colllage, painting, iris folding, image transfer, altered art, etc), along with some materials to try it out with, and an ATC sized finished piece of artwork, using the technique, to mail off to your partner. June 39Cent Art Kit: Step1: Find a simple project to do, and photocopy, or hand write/type out and print how to do it. Black and white copies are fine, as color copies cost and arm and a leg. Try to keep the number of pages down to 2 or 3, as a large project is going to cost alot to mail. Step 2: Gather some materials to use to make the project to send to your partner. Being a 39Cent SH trade, they should be small enough to fit in the envelope (sample papers, blank ATCs, photos, small ziplock baggies of embossing/micca powders, stamped images, etc.), just the basics to try the project out. Your partner will already have the tools (sissors, glue, ruler, paint etc.) to make the project. Step 3: Using the directions your going to send, make one of the pieces on ATC a size card to show what you have learned and to inspire your partner. Step 4: Mail out the envelope and wait till yours comes in. Step 5: (optional) Share with the group!!!! We'd love to know what someone has sent you, and what great artwork happened when you tried it! Have fun!!!! Daniel |
