Description:

This swap is for the rest of the world! ;o) and those in the US, wishing for an international partner!

For those of you that haven't seen a Magic Yarnball swap before, I will try and explain.

Take 1 ball of yarn and 10-15 small items, that you think your partner might like. Start to unravel the yarn and re-wrap it into a new ball. As you wrap, add the small items into the ball as you go. In the end you should have a lumpy bumpy yarn ball all wrapped up.

You can use any kind of yarn you like. Don't forget to include the label in your package for your partners reference.

There is no theme for this one so use your partners profile and send them things you know they will like. Make sure your profile has lots of information about what you like so your partner has an easy and fun time putting together your magic yarnball.

Please use only new and unused items, they can be things you have on hand already. eg. craft supplies, candy, tea/coffee satchel, knick knacks, key ring, jewellery, small soft toy, anything your partner might like. NO junk or stuff that you wouldn't like to receive yourself.

RECAP: You will need: 1 ball of yarn, 10-15 small items. It's also nice to add a note to your partner.

This is an INTERNATIONAL swap, so please be aware you may have to post overseas. If you cannot afford to pay the postage then please don't signup.

Open to swappers with a 4.7+ rating only.

Anyone with more than 1 no send or flaky profiles will be banned. I don't want anyone to miss out.

Happy wrapping!

I have been wanting to do a yarn ball swap for ages then three come along at the same time!

I'm so excited to do this again. I was involved in the first one and had a blast! I like the fact that this is a fairly small group (so far) too; it feels more like community. :)

partners will be assigned on the 20th (US time), which is actually late on the 21st in some parts of the world (including mine)

20th is late 19th in some parts of the world, like my country :) I´m so lucky!

I wonder if anyone will use recycled silk yarn... I have been looking all over the place for some and cannot find any at all!

I just spent the last two hours wrapping up the yarn ball for my partner.. she will love it, I am sure!

Thank you for this swap.

I was all excited.. my magic yarn ball contains 50 items or so.. and I was happy to be up to the challenge of making it fit. Then, I was shocked when I went to the post office and it cost $23.20 USD to send it! Wow! The post office is really robbing people nowadays! Anyway, the yarnball is perfect, and even more so for being my first one ever! I do hope you the recipient likes it.

(BTW, I am not usually in the habit of telling how much postage was, but I thought the post office was out of line with that, so I thought I would vent.)

Oh, did I mention that it's a three pound yarnball?!!

:)

wow! Phoenyx I wish I was your partner! thats a lot of things to add to a ball of yarn :o) Postage is such a rip off, I know mines going to cost A$19.30 to send. haha the partner I'm sending to is the partner sending to you! I hope you receive a wonderful yarnball in return.

My send will be expensive too, because Argentina I too far from my partner, but I feel very happy to be a member of this swap community!...I hope my partner enjoy the items, I made some of them and choose others with love. Thanks and good luck ! :)

Griffie 07/ 9/2007 #

I will look forward to receiving it, Ceske! Can't wait!!

Marylyn, yours was posted about half an hour ago.

Griffie 07/12/2007 #

Thankyou SO much, Ceske! I picked up my yarn ball about half an hour ago from the post office - it has taken me that long to unwrap it and admire all the bits and pieces! - and I just can't stop smiling, it is so great! I knew it was going to be good the moment I saw the box wrapped up in its funky tape, and it just kept going from there. Love, love, love it all. I am raving, I know, but I just can't help it. I will have to get you in another swap so I can pay you back - thanks again for everything.

Everyone should be 'sent' now :o) Please let your partner (and I) know if you are running late sending. Thanks
