I love digitally-altering photographs and I enjoy making ATCs, but I'm never sure if a swap partner who isn't "into" flat, digital cards will be disappointed if they get a card that's not made up of many, visible layers. So....Let's dust off our Photoshop skills and play with photos! Scan a vintage photo or use one you've taken. Alter the colors, stretch your subjects, add texture, merge photos, add new digital elements, etc. This could be done in the style of a mini-digital scrapbook page, a punked-out vintage photo, or anything in-between. Heck, you could turn your great-grandfather into a Halloween vampire! The choice is yours (but check out your partner's profile and see if you can do something they will enjoy!). Please don't just convert a photo to black and white or sepia and call it done. Send onto others as you wish to be sent to. Be creative and have fun. The only stipulation is that the final product be absolutely FLAT, no 3-D embellishments of any kind. Since these ATCs will be easy to duplicate, let's do one (1) ATC for each of 4 (four) partners. International, since these could go into a regular envelope and ship cheaply. If you're new to ATCs, they're miniature works of art created on a sturdy base (thick cardstock, cardboard, chipboard, matboard, etc) and they measure 2.5" x 3.5". You must have a completely filled out profile to join this swap (c'mon - fill it out! We want to know what you like/don't like to receive!), as well as a rating of at least 4.8. Feel you've been unfairly rated? Email me and we'll talk. NEWBIES ARE ALSO WELCOME!! We all start somewhere...and I'm still newish myself. :) I will review all profiles prior to assigning partners, so if you look even the tiniest bit suspicious, I'll PM you before removing you. I DO reserve the right to remove anyone whom I believe to be a potential flaker. Don't forget to get started early so that you can avoid the "my child was sick, my car broke down, work got crazy, etc." problems that might keep you from getting this out on time. :) Have fun! |
