Description:

For all of you who are interested in non-musical sound, here is a chance to share your favorites. Ideas for source material include radio shows, podcasts, sound clips or samples, animal noises, comedy routines, books on tape, recorded poetry/recitations, etc.

For this swap, we will be swapping:

*1 CD of non-music audio content with 2 partners.

*There must be at least 2 sources for the content (don't make a CD of just one thing, variety will increase the odds your partner will find something to her/his liking).

*Include a note of where the audio came from.

*Use primarily English language source material (if you want to include a short clip in another language, feel free, but please make the majority English). Non-language (animal, nature, mechanical) sound clips should also be shorter in length.

*Please contact your partner to check before sending any questionable or adult content. On the flip side, please try to be understanding if you get something a little outside of your normal range, everyone's judgement is different.

*Ship in appropriate packaging.

Newbies with filled-out profiles are welcome after a quick email to the swap coordinator to confirm. Established members need a 4.0 rating or better to participate.

Ok.

I have been thinking of doing a "field recordings" swap - things you find on the Internet or off CDs like these would be fine... even processed sound collage would be ok... but what would really ring my bell would be compilations that participants make themselves, of walks through their favorite park, local outdoor markets, passing trains, malfunctioning copy machines, neighbors singing in the shower, etc.

Is anyone else into this? I will put this up in the forums later, too.

Mrrranda- That sounds amazing! I was actually hoping that people in this swap might have something like that on their disks. Right now I have technical difficulties with producing my own...I have a minidisc player, but have yet to make a set-up to convert those into audio files on my computer.
