Description:

For this swap you will make one necklace for one partner, based on their profile. Does he/she like orange? make the chain a string with orange seed beads. Do they love antique things? use an old looking clasp and charms. Do they like horses? put a horse charm one it etc.. You will analyse this persons profile to death and try to make this necklace their favorite. You can make it any length and out of anything, but go for simplicity (do whatever you want but dont overkill it with a billion charms and large beads!). Just one charm and maybe an acessory charm to make it prettier. One more requitement is that you are moderately experienced at making jewelry (or if new at it, you must practice first!). It must have a clasp to put it on with, rather than just a tye on one. We are going for simple and beautiful, not elaborate, and at the same time creating a necklace that the person will probably want to wear :] You must have at least 5 mailed swaps to join and no 4.9 or below unless you message me.

Wow, this is a lovely swap idea. Unfortunately it is such a short time between the drop date vs. the send by date that I don't think I can join it as I've got several swaps going on. Most importantly, I just don't think that's quite enough time for me to really get a feel for someone from their profile, collect the right beads/charms/findings, and put together a necklace.

If it's supposed to be a quick, not-too-special thing, then I guess this would be enough time, but for a quality swap, you might want to add a few weeks!

I seldom manage to join any "craft" swaps with less than a month turnaround time--partly because I (and a lot of other swappers) only have the weekends to craft/art/play. Just a suggestion.

Would adding another week be enough time for you guys to complete it?

This is a great idea...something simple, yet complex as it really should take into account your partner's profile information. So, really, it is something special we are creating and six days is a rush - even for me, and I've been doing this since I was 13.

I do understand the "quick" aspect, but maybe that should be for earrings? Something smaller? Even then, I can see @PDXyogini 's point about finding those components that are just right and special for your partner.

I think a necklace - something special - needs a few weeks at least. Some people use a loom to create their work, or wire wrapping, or even polymer clay or PMC and that takes time.

Just my 2 cents. (They don't even have the cent sign on keyboards anymore!!!) lol!
