Description: | |
For this swap you will buy a Reporter Moleskine notebook. They measure approximately 9 x 14cm and are available with plain, squared or lined pages. They have 192 pages. These notebooks have thinner pages than the usual art journals we recommend so you won't be able to paint on them. Moleskines are available in most bookshops or from Amazon and Ebay. This swap is designed for 5 people to participate. You will fill the first quarter of the book and post to the next person in the circle. They fill the second quarter and so on, before sending home for the fifth person to keep. Just to be clear, this means the journal you end up with will not have any of your own work in. Ignore swap-bot assigned partners, we will create our own circle once we have 5 participants. Sign up by 30 December 2009. You have one month to work on your journal and will post 1st February. There will then be 6 week gaps to allow 2 weeks for international travel. 2nd posting 15th March. 3rd and final posting 30 April. Feel free to post earlier if you finish before the date. As this is not your typical art journal, here are a few ideas for what you can fill it with, but it's up to you - no rules! *Found items of interest, such as scratchcards or ticket stubs *Photographs *Writing *Drawings *Tape *Fancy lettering *Collages *Make pockets, envelopes or flaps *Stickers *Copies of artwork *Mini-zine *Prints *Passport booth pictures *Magazine articles *Art *Doodles For more inspiration, cut and paste this link below into your browser and watch my all-time favourite youtube clip which uses the plain reporter Moleskine. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b_5kRhNoOIY You can also type "Moleskine Detour" into youtube's search facility for more clips. Another artist that uses these small moleskines is Lia aka Art Junk Girl. Cut and paste the link below to see her reporter moleskine pages. But click on the tabs on the right as she has many journal pages on there to inspire. http://artjunk.typepad.com/artjunk/artjournalling/ Have fun girlies :-) POSTING ORDER: Godsrockangel posts to Dangerous Moustache posts to Livethechaos posts to secretterrabite posts to Godsrockangel. As there is now one less posting the swap will finish earlier, meaning the book you receive to keep will still have one quarter left to fill. |
