Description:

Here is a swap for the artists! (Or people who want to try their hand at art!) Have you ever wanted to swap away some artwork to get someone else's? Well here's your chance! I will be doing a series of swaps that will feature art as the swapping item! This swap will be open internationally so that everyone can participate!

Here's the criteria for Art Swap Series #1:

The theme for the first swap is drawing/sketching.

For this swap you will draw/sketch something for your swap partner. The medium that you use will be open to anything that you have at your home, whether it be a graphite pencil, pen & ink, ballpoint pens, sharpies, whatever you can find! The theme is also open, so let your imagination run wild! Just have fun! Please make sure, however, that you spend the appropriate amount of time to do the work! I.E. I don't want to hear from any swapper that someone sent them something that looks like it was drawn in 2 minutes.

Because this swap will take some time and effort, please make sure that you don't sign up if you have too many swaps already. I want people who put work into their art to get the same back when they receive their drawing!

You will have one swapping partner. Newbies, you must have a completely filled-out profile AND you must contact me to make a commitment before I will let you join. I will determine whether or not you will be allowed to join at that time. Also, for seasoned swappers, no unresolved no-sends for the past 6 months.

Size requirements: No maximum size, but no smaller than 5"x7"

If you have questions, please post them on the wall or contact me!

Any size requirements?

sweetnlow 10/27/2009 #

There's no maximum size, but no smaller than the standard 8''x10'' please, unless you make 2 or 3 small ones. :-)

Are soft/oil pastels okay as mediums?

handsdown46785 11/ 2/2009 #

I would say yes to your soft/oil pastels...they are new to me, but most definitley an awesome medium to work with!

sweetnlow 11/ 3/2009 #

yes, pastels are fine.

8 x 10 is kinda pushy-my 5 x 7 originals sell for 50 to 100 bucks-I dont mind doing a quick (that means several hours) piece for a swap-I do them for ATCs but and 8 x 10-youre talking a couple days and a couple hundred bucks- if you are asking for originals especially when there are professionals swapping I would go with 5 x 7 or larger-many swappers are thrilled to get one of my ATCs-I;m sure there are others on swapbot that are the same-just my feelings havnt signed up yet

rick, you could do a smaller one if your work is very detailed, i chose 8x10 because that's usually the size of a sheet of paper, would people prefer a smaller size? i don't mind changing it to 5x7 if that size works better for people :-)

rick1949 11/ 6/2009 #

4 x6 and 5 x 7 are very popular sizes so if you accept one 5 x 7 original-I'm in...

sweetnlow 11/ 6/2009 #

sure thing, i'll update it on the desription as well, glad to have you in our swap!

I am confused a little on how to contact you. Mind if I just leave it as a comment here? I'm a newbie and I'd like to join this swap. I know it's last minute so no worries if I'm denied accordingly.
