Description:

Welcome book lovers! In this swap you will asked to send your partner items a book lover will appreciate.

The first two items will be books*. The first book is to be copy of 'your' most favorite book. The second book will be chosen with the receivers taste in mind. (Please leave a message below with a few of your favorite categories, or check profiles for ideas.)

*Used books in good condition will be acceptable.

The next item will be a brief note of greeting and to let your partner know why the book you sent is your favorite.

The last item will be for you to chose based on what you think your partner will like in the way of a book related gift.

If you are still stumped for gift ideas after you view your partners profile here are a few random thoughts I had; a supply of book marks, book plates, a book light, or maybe something that might go with reading like tea, a tote bag for books, a cd of relaxing music, etc. I am sure you creative lot can come up with many more.

If this swap is something that has been done before, my apologies. My aging brain thinks this is an original idea.

I am making this swap for US and Canada residents to keep shipping costs down. The total costs for the two books and gift item above should be about $15-$20.

Now the rules...

For this swap I would like to see folks with a 4.8 or higher rating and well developed profiles. If you have a good reason for a lower rating and want in, contact me and we'll discuss.

I will be checking each and every profile and reserve the right to say farewell to anyone who looks or smells sketchy.

If you are a newbie and want in, contact me. I can't guarantee I will say yes, but flattery might get you somewhere!

Well I'm a little strange, I'm into sci-Fi, classic novels, historical,

I like: Happily ever afters, young adult genres, books based in the past like Jane Austen for example, fantasy, ghost stories (not horror and gruesome), science fiction (like time travel, etc.), historical fiction. I just don't like sexy romance novels. Looking forward to this swap!

This is cool!!

I love science fiction (true science fiction, not fantasy), alternate history, collections of science-fiction short stories, myths...there's some more in my profile.

This is really cool! I think this is actually a Type 3 swap though, right?

I love fantasy (no sci-fi), paranormal, YA, mystery, and horror the most.

I really really want to do this swap, but I live in a rural area with no books stores near by...it is hard to have access to find something to send to someone...I will keep thinking about it though!

I usually read hard-core Sci-Fi (spaceship) or Lord of the Rings type (Tolkien, wizards fantasy) books but also love picture/history books about swords and shields, armor, real life CASTLES, etc. Question: do these need to be hardback books?

honeyandsuch 01/22/2010 #

I like fantasy but not sci-fi. I also love historical novels, fairy tales (fractured and otherwise), memoirs, mythology, and anthologies. I usually like those best seller sort of books too. I do not like mysteries, vampire books, horror, etc. I usually like fiction but am open to non-fiction if you think it is good. And I actually prefer paperbacks to hardcover. Oh! I also love books that have been written in. You could send me a totally beat up book but as long as it is written in, I'll be happy as a clam!
