Description: | |
Let's keep a 'journal' (and I use the term loosely) of what we read over the next two months. Mine will be light, probably, because my reading time right now is limited. :( But here are the rules: Get a notebook. It can be anything you like, but let's keep prices down for ourselves here. I will use one of those sewn composition notebooks (we call them cahiers) that kids use in school, regular paper sized. If you have extra pages your partner can continue the journal of her own reading later. If you include nothing else with it, it can be mailed media mail, which takes a few extra days but is less expensive. (I tried to do a search to see if "media mail" includes handwritten books, but all the definitions just say "books", so I will assume this applies to our swap) Enter the date, the title and author of the book you are beginning, and a very brief description. You can copy from the dust jacket or just write a sentence yourself. During your reading you may add a section with comments you think of, but this is not required. After you have finished the book, write a short critique. Something more than "I liked it", but don't get bogged down by this part if you are not a writer. Basically, just let us know whether you recommend it or not, and what you liked or didn't like about it (without giving away any crucial details in case we read it!) and whether you believe you will ever read it again. You are free to write as much as you'd like here, but a few sentences will fill the requirement. Finally, decorate the envelope in which you send your 'journal'. I am leaving this broad for you... do whatever you like. Happy reading! (and swapping!) No unexplained ones or threes, please... although since it is a group swap we should be fine there. Please let me know about flaker issues. |
