Description: | |
April is National Poetry Month (for USA and Canada), who knew?? I thought it might be fun to swap poetry. Don't panic, you don't have to be a poet. The poetry can be written by anyone. Just be sure that credit is given to the poet. I think we should send 2 poems to 2 partners. The reason I chose 2 poems is so we CAN include one of our own poems if we do write poetry, but you don't have to write either. If you are a fan of Longfellow, you can copy his work (as long as he gets the credit for writing them). Also, I'm opening this to everyone since I'm sure our group has no flakers (I would angel if the need arose), and it doesn't cost much to send so little overseas. If you are one of those people that just HAVE to do something special, you can put the poems on pretty paper or embellish them in some way to make them pretty. Just try to keep to the mood of the poem. For instance, if you like the poem "The Raven" and choose to use it, don't embellish it with stickers of children in the playground, etc. You get the picture. Also, I think it would be nice to get our poems to enjoy for the entire Poetry Month, so we'll stop the sign up on March 10 and have the final day to send as March 20. That should give everyone time to receive their poems in time for April. I like the idea of swaps based on "little known" holidays. If anyone else likes this idea, leave a comment or PM me and I'll do some more. Poetry may not be your bag, but one of the "off the wall" holidays is bound to appeal to everyone, right? Any questions, ask. |
