This is a fun project and I hope you will think so too. Take a piece of cardstock (any color, roughly 5" x 7") and randomly adhere all sorts of different papers to it, overlapping the edges as you go (your papers can be decorative, printed with words, plain, sparkly, etc.). The idea here is not to worry about planning – just have fun with random papers. After you have completed this step, turn the cardstock over so you can't see the covered side. Draw a heart on it, roughly 3" high (see note below). Cut out the heart. Now, turn it over and see how pretty it looks with the collaged papers you chose. It's kind of like a surprise – you never know what you're going to get. Now, take this pretty heart and use it to make a card for your partner; not for them to send, but for them to receive and enjoy. You could even make it into a Valentine card; the choice is up to you. Please write a short (or long) message inside. A few ideas are to attach your heart to another layer and cut that out in a heart shape too, and then adhere it to the front of a blank card. You could cut tiny slits all around the heart and wrap gold thread across it to give it some further pizzazz. I'm sure you will think of other ways too. Have fun and be creative. NOTE: You could even choose to cut out two smaller hearts and use those on the card. You will be sending 1 card to 1 partner. It is sender's choice on the papers they use to make the heart and card. |
