Valentine's Day is coming and love poems are among the oldest form known to woman or man [think Sapho, think the Psalms]. Let's write a new consciousness love poem. Choose a famous line from a love poem -- example, "how do I love thee? let me count the ways," or "Shall I compare my love to a summer's day?" -- and then write your own version. Tell your swap partner what the line is and who wrote it but it does not need to be included in the poem itself unless that is what you chose to do. You can be serious or funny, it's up to you. We'll have two partners and it will be international and snail mail. I think people in this group will be dependable but I'll check the ratings before I assign partners and if there are no sends, I'll ban the person. |
