Barnes and Noble had a big selection of bargain books marked 75% off the sale price. Nothing good for just reading, but some good for envelope pages, and some children's board books. I bought one and and cut the pages into postcard sized pictures (4x6) and thought... hmmm, a swap? So... make three postcards from a children's book and send one to each of three partners, blank, in an envelope. This is for your PARTNER to write on and mail out sometime. These can be made from a board book, a picture book, or a piece of children's literature... sender's choice. I'm not sure if the board book postcards will take a little extra postage to mail out but I will try to find out when I go to the post office. Mount pages from other types of children's books onto something that is at least as sturdy as a post card (cereal boxes are about the right weight, or acrylic paper...) Make sure on the cardboard side you make a place for the addresses and the message, like on a store bought postcard (you can be creative with this if you want to...it doesn't have to be JUST like a store bought card, as long as the post office will take it and your partner can use it.) You can send more if you like, but the requirement is only one. Simple!! I don't think we have any flakers in our group, so won't make restrictions. If you are flaking on other swaps outside the group you will not be allowed to join this one, and will be removed from the group anyway. One postcard, made from a children's book, sent to three partners (for a total of three cards), sent on time. It's nice to include a little note with your packages. That's it! |
