(( This is a swap for those who love old cultural art, and love to make it ))

Now, I absolutelly LOVE all things Japanese and Chinese; much like anime and plain old movies to do with the dynasties and games as well. I find it all so beutiful and mysterious... one of the most beautiful and intreguing things of those worlds is Geishas!

In this swap, you artists and crafts people, or others who are just curious can join and have some fun with the world of moving art - geishas'.

You will have one partner to make 3 things for him/her with something to do with geishas! You can do all sorts of things. If you have a local 'World Market' near you, they sell all sorts of cultural toys! And please, if you are going to buy something for your swap partner, please only buy one thing and MAKE the rest.

One thing of the 3 must be a drawing/painting/even a sculpture if you want to be creative... this does NOT necissarily mean you have to make an ATC; I'm a great artist but I can't draw in those little spaces very well and have it look magnificent -- so if you don't like ATCs go ahead and use a piece of printer paper and have it no bigger than 400x400mm please. Anything that ties into a geisha's life and surroundings can be inserted into this piece of artwork but the MAIN idea is GEISHA!!! I can not stress the pretty word enough, Geisha! Also if you make an ATC, you will have to make 3, I'm not going to make this easy for anyone.

Little Tid-Bits:

  • Info Sheets
  • Geisha Drawing
  • Coligraphy
  • Bamboo
  • Old Coins
  • Photo YOU Have Taken of YOURSELF dressed/made-up like a Geish ((EXTRA RATINGS FOR THIS PLEASE!))
  • Chimes
  • Stationary
  • Tea Sets
  • ECT...

Those are just idea's, and in hopes for you all there is a little chinese/japanese international store in my mall and I hope maybe you have one, called 'Dragon Gate' which has all kimonos and fun stuff imported all the way here.

This is also a chance to get easy 5.0 ratings and hearts and good words on your profile. If a person sends you more then three little toys/art/ect then please give them a good heads up - if your partner goes to extra lengths to make you smile with pretty things, just give them a pat on the back and an easy heart. It's only fair if they spend time on it!

Now please, enjoy this swap; I don't want you guys to get all spasmodic on it and frantic that you have no idea, what to do and can't think of anything... If you have anymore questions or need some help just message me, or e-me at bluburrymuffinz@gmail.com, I'm open ears! And please start working on it immediatelly if you sign up, because I'm making the dates close to eachother to spice up a challange. I hope I have made everything clearly stated and easy to fallow, this is the first swap I have created so, lol I hope it goes through with all right...

~.:Have Fun! Good Luck!!!:.~

Geisha ~ (芸者, Geisha) or Geigi (芸妓, Geigi) are traditional, female Japanese entertainers, whose skills include performing various Japanese arts, such as classical music and dance. Contrary to popular opinion and Western stereotypes, geisha are NOT prostitutes. Geisha are similar to the Korean Kisaeng and the ancient Greek Hetaerae.

Someone messaged me about some more ideas, I thought I would share them:

  • Write a short story about a Geisha with CORRECT information and references in the story
  • Buy a coligraphy set at 'Barnes & Noble' or make your own and look up some words and phrases
  • Paint a Geisha on a sheet of water-colore paper and add some glitter of pieces of cut-out
  • Buy some dried bamboo and add it to the items
  • Make a hemp necklace with old Chinese/Japanese coins
  • Paint own face like a Geisha and take a picture
  • Write a short poem about a Geisha's work at a tavern/inn or their lives in general
  • Do a report over a Geisha and their way of life
  • Find a set of make-up that is similar to what they used and send it to your partner
  • A notebook bought or made with something to do with this type of art in general

Those are a few I gave to her, if you need anymore ideas because you're still stumped; let me know!
