Fellow Swappers! This is a technique I've been wanting to try out for awhile now and hopefully so have you. I found a website with free patterns and instructions http://www.handcraftedgreetings.com/iristmpl.html and thought it would be great to make one of these designs for your partner. Designs included are Hexagon, Pentagon, Square, and Triangle. Select one of the designs and create it for your partner. I'm asking that your design measure at least 5" square, but can be larger if you like. Check your partner's profile for preferred colors and then go crazy! Iris folding began in Holland, where the artists used to use the inside of patterned envelopes for their designs. It is common to use lightweight paper now, or magazine pages--anything that strikes your fancy. The designs sort of "spiral down" and are just plain NEAT. So....requirements are: One (1) iris-folded hanging for one (1) partner Use one of the 4 designs featured in the website (web address listed above) The website also features easy-to-use instructions for newbies to iris-folding Check partner's profile for color preferences When finished, attach a ribbon (or other hanger) so your partner can immediately display your artwork. If you choose, you may further embellish the hanging, but don't go overboard--the focus should be on the beautifully folded paper! Mail on time! This swap is open to everyone who takes their swapping commitment seriously. Remember, if you follow-through on the swap, your responsible actions make swap-bot a better place for everyone! |
