INTERNATIONAL

The cold months will be approching quicker than we think, and who doesn't love a cozy scarf? For this swap you will have 2 partners. You will send each of them 1 scarf. Each person will post in the comments below their favorite color(s), and we will either make them one based on their fav colors, or you can send them one that you have already made with their fav colors. It's up to you! As long as it was handmade by YOU, and not someone else, or store bought! They have to be either knitted or crocheted.

I am going to give a month and a half to get the items sent out. I know for me it only takes me about 3 days to make a scarf, so hopefully a month and a half should be plenty of time!

  • No newbies
  • Swappers with a 4.8 rating or higher only
  • No no-sends

Any questions or comments, feel free to contact me!!!

My favorite colors are:

  • Chocolate brown/Pink
  • Chocolate brown/turquoise
  • Orange/White (GO VOLS!!)

Take your pick from those colors! :-D

Hi, I signed up but I have a question before I really decide if I want to join... Can I loom a scarf? It is handmade just out of yarn and I can make small (thin) ones or bigger ones... The thin ones are actually really cool and I would take a picture of one but every one I have made has been given away (asked for) or sold. I can make on in a couple weeks if you would like to see it first.

Yikes sorry I was so long winded

user8908 07/13/2007 #

Of course! I use a loom to make hats, and I use the scarf loom to make small blankets. Any way you have to make them, is fine with me. As long as they are made by you!

Lava 07/14/2007 #

I would like either green, black or grey. I don't mind if they are thin, thick, chunky or delicate. :)

marlousha 07/14/2007 #

I simply must crochet every day, so this swap gives me purpose to my compulsive need! My color preferences are: Navy, Black, Maroon, or Gray. I prefer a soft yarn (not scratchy) as I have sensitive skin. I've already started a scarf, so I hope I get a partner who likes the color I'm using! LOL Thanks!

user4785 07/14/2007 #

I love sea colours: greens, turquoises, blues; also earth colours: terracotta, browns, yellow ochres, oranges; and bright pinks: cerise, poppy, reds.

ohsarajean 07/14/2007 #

For scarfs I like greens, blues, pinks, and reds :) I have a black pea-coat so I like brightly colored scarfs.

user9023 07/14/2007 #

i like bright colors and i would love a rainbow scarf! if not rainbow, my favorite color is green.

craftycrocheter 07/15/2007 #

I prefer earth tones (browns, greens, dk reds and oranges) but I have a dauhgter who loves bright colors so that would be fine to, we can share!

nyflorac 07/15/2007 #

Glad to join this swap! My favorite colors are simple as gray-blue, light-brown or light light gray-green. I prefer simple cozy yarn without multi colors.

squintgrad 07/16/2007 #

wooohooo - I just bought all kinds of yarn at yard sales. Now I've got a reason to use them!!

My favorite color(s) for a scarf would be: red or rust

KT 07/16/2007 #

Hi all - My favorite colors are blues, purples, and reds (also like green!). I'm a "winter" - so please no pastels. I'm all allergic to wool and other animal fibers, but I have a guilty love of novelty yarns including chenille and fur... :) - KT

user8908 07/16/2007 #

Im so excited at the amount of people that has turned out for this one!! YAY! (I honestly didn't think that many people would sign up this soon!!)

Winnie 07/16/2007 #

Hi all! My favourite color is red (also like green for scarves), but if you want to make a chunky scarf with a mix of colors, lets do it! I dont mind if it is a delicate or a chunky scarf, I love surprises!

nyflorac 07/16/2007 #

Is there any price and scarf length suggestion (limit)?

Valerie 07/17/2007 #

I'm ready and raring to go! I'm allergic to mohair, but anything else is welcome. I love bright, intense colours, in any combination. My favourite colours are purple and green, but feel free to go wild: I never match anyhow.

user8908 07/17/2007 #

nyflorac - Price is determined by what kind of yarn you buy. You will just have to see what colors your partner likes. The length will just be the standard length for a store bought scarf i suppose. Although I do like to make mine extra long :-D

arcticgirl64 07/18/2007 #

Wish it was only one partner as the scarves I make are pretty expensive (alpacca yarn). Will think till tomorrow if Ill drop this swap. Mybe another time itll be only one partner.

cooan 07/18/2007 #

I have no colour preference, just NO PASTELS. I hate pastels with a passion. :( I like strong, rich, and/or vibrant colours.

user8908 07/18/2007 #

arcticgirl, you don't have to use expensive yarn to make these scarves. People will be pleased with whatever they receive i'm sure! As long as it's handmade by you!

:-D

arcticgirl64 07/19/2007 #

Those scarves I make are made by alpacca. Have tried other yarns to for that scarf , but it didnt worked well. Ive already made 24 of them the last 3 years, for X-mas and birthdays, so I know them by heart. They are lovely. I may browse the net to see if I can find anything nice, but yarn is very limited in our village, so I have to trust my won yarn stash for yarn to use.

ellyB 07/19/2007 #

Wow! I found this just in time to join. I have a stash that need to be used, no storage room for all the yarns I have. Is it OK if I use a blend? Here (in Croatia) real wool + nice colors are almost imposible to find, not to mention expencive ones.

user8908 07/19/2007 #

You can use whatever type of material you want to use, as long as it is done in your partners listed colors.

user9741 07/20/2007 #

I'm a newbie and I'd like to join the swap. Can I make something to prove i'm going to make it right? I'd like to subscribe, but I don't know if I can. Thanks in advance

Bec 07/20/2007 #

Another newbie who would love to join?

I've registered for a few other swaps which means I will have ratings before the items are due to be sent out but not before the end of the subscription period.

Maybe I can be paired with another newbie?? TIA

user8908 07/20/2007 #

sorry, no newbies in this swap.

lcove2000 07/21/2007 #

I like colorful and varigated. More earthy tones than really bright. Just not scratchy please.

ellyB 07/24/2007 #

I am a little late but I would love something lilac or periwinkle or just something pastel towards the blue range thanks

mmmontserrat 08/ 4/2007 #

Hi! I am a little late too but I am open to all colors!

I am allergic to wools unless they are fine or blends (sorry if I didn't tell you soon enough, I must have been asleep at the wheel this past month!)... and if you send me a wool then I will use it on top of a sweater so no worries!

Winnie 08/11/2007 #

Are the date times ok?

nyflorac 08/13/2007 #

I got the sweet package from ravelling!(So EARLY!) Really happy and surprised! Thank you so much!

user8908 08/14/2007 #

I changed the send by date because I got halfway through mine, ran out of yarn (doing both in the same yarn but different colors) and I cannot find it anywhere. I'm afraid I might have to start over again.

That gives you all some more time! Thanks!
