For the love of art journals and for journaler's everywhere (well, actually just the AJL group), here is a swap to help you prepare for those frantic and exciting moments of creativity, as well as to spark inspiration when it's needed. An Art Journal Kit for the Artist on the Go! You will put together (at a minimum) the following items: 1 gluestick 1 sheet of letter stickers 20 images (from magazines, die-cuts, etc) for giving the appropriately sized images to your partner, see the suggestions at the bottom 10 magazine article titles to use as journaling prompts (these are a lot of fun and can send your imagination into a million directions!) 10 pieces of ephemera/flat embellishments (ideas include used postage stamps, die cut images, acetate embellishments, fortune cookie fortunes, vintage ephemera, etc) 1 tape sampler ( I LOVE using tape in my journals. I make little "samplers" by wrapping tape around an old pen or pencil and wrap the tape over itself repeatedly. In this way I don't have to carry around a whole roll of colored duct tape, just a pen or pencil with two or three types of tape wrapped around it. By layering the tape over itself it comes off really easy and can be used, it's stickiness isn't affected). 5 sheets of patterned or textured paper and last but not least...... 1 sturdy container to package everything in so your partner can use this kit anytime, anywhere! Go wild! Go nuts! Have fun with this! Make a journal kit that you would absolutely LOVE to give and love to get. These requirements are the bare minimum of things to send, feel free to send more items if you wish, especially if you have a favorite supply or technique you think should be shared with your fellow artist. Since we all use different types/sizes of journals, help out your partner by listing the size of the journal you typically use so they can send the appropriately sized images/embellishments/papers. Above all........ HAVE FUN!!!!! |
