Because of the postage of this swap this is a US ONLY swap. If you do not live in the US and still wish to participate feel free to make your own swap with a similar theme.

I am giving you two weeks from the date you get your partner to put together a themed box. Get creative with the items you put in the box. To make this fair to everyone I am making a minimum of 10$ (before postage) to be spent on this swap. As always you can send more than that but do not expect anything more.

Edited to add: If you have below a 3 for a rating please do not sign up for this swap. Though new people (with no rating) are very welcome to join us =D

Edit: I moved the date back a few days so the last day to send is on the weekend. No worries ^_^

this is a great idea! whenever i send swaps i decorate my boxes but i never thought of a entire theme like this!

  1. photagraphy in a box (dispoable camera/toy camera, polariod pics of swap partner, a figurine/stuffie to take pics with i dont know, just throwing stuff out there:P)

  4. girls night out!

user2445 07/31/2006 #

Such a good idea!! <3 Let me theee....

1) Japanese candy/toys/accessories!! <3<3 2) Cutesy flowery teatime stuff, like leedle cups and saucers and doilies etc. 3) Anything with faeries/mermaids that doesn't stray too far into cheesyville 4) "Springtime in the Country".. things you'd find in a cottage :3 5) Vintage valentine/romance.. think french romanticist era type stuff

Likes/Dislikes.. hmm.. I do like candles, and home-crotcheted things. I don't like spicy scents or flavors, I hate dark chocolate... I really love flowers, and country-esque quaint stuff!!

AshleyShea 08/ 1/2006 #

Here are some possibilities for themes for my box. 1) Ocean (Anything ocean related is nice. I love lighthouses. I'm not big on tropical scenes.) 2) Art supplies (I'm thinking the box could be decorated with splashes of paint or decorative paper with pictures of brushes and pencils and markers, etc. Or whatever...just thought I'd let you know what I was thinking.) 3) Travel 4) Secrets/spies/scavenger hunt (ala DaVinci Code -- but don't send the book, got it, read it, loved it! ;-)

imyorehuckleberry 08/ 1/2006 #

Hello, Angela Boehm here.

Some ideas for themes for my box are:

  1. Girls Night Out
  2. Indulgence
  3. Knitting/Crotching
  4. Romantic Night In or Out
  5. Relaxing Evening (good read, bath stuff, good things to eat/drink, etc...)

I don't like really flowery strong scents. I don't drink. I like classy not necessarily cutsy stuff.

user1936 08/ 1/2006 #

I am so happy people are participating in this swap! Another idea/suggestion: When I said box, I just ment it as a thing to hold the stuff in, you dont have to limit yourself to a shoe box, If someone says they want DIY as their theme, you could put your items into a tool box, if it would fit. I am just trying to get the creative juices flowing.

Peas 08/ 1/2006 #

I've been thinking about it for a while and it wont get out of my head, so decided I would just go ahead and sign up. I'm Julianne. :)

  3. Sci-Fi
  4. Beach
  5. Halloween

Nothing adult, I'm still just a kid laugh. I like little knick-knacky things.

shelley 08/ 1/2006 #

I like homemade things and bright colors. I hope this isn't too picky.

user1746 08/ 2/2006 #

Ok, I'm signed up for so many swaps, but this one sounds so fun I had to do it as well. I'm Marcia, here's some ideas for me: Peace & Serenity; Oceans and Beaches; Mountains & Meadows; Change & Good Luck; Waterfalls & Wishes. I'm sort of quirky...like funny things more than sappy sweet things. I've just gone through a very difficult time and am looking forward to a more serene future so I like things that make me smile, feel peaceful and forward looking. Check out my profile for more ideas. I love purple, pink, electric blue, flowers, CATS, dogs...all animals really. I have a pet duck for whom I am the love of his life....see quirky...

user1797 08/ 2/2006 #

This swap sounds like so much fun.
I'm Katy H.

Some Themes: 1. Ladybugs I love anything to do with ladybugs, since my nickname is katebug.

  1. Princess I also adore anything with the word princess on it.

  2. Pigs I have a pig collection, and love piggies.

  3. Makeup I'm a huge makeup fan; eyeshadow, lipstick, lipgloss, eyeliner, nailpolish..whatever it may be, I love it!

  4. Candy I'm big into gums, candies, sweetstuff. I love clove, lemon, cinnamon, chocolate, sour stuff, vanilla, rootbeer, bubblegum flavored and anything else.

  5. Crochet/Yarn I teach crochet, and absolutely hooked! I'd love anything to do with crochet whether it be tools, patterns, books, etc.

I don't really have any allergies or dislikes. The only thing that really sticks out would be with the candy theme. Just something that wouldn't melt, since we are having 100 degree weather. Also, I CANNOT do anything spearmint. It gives me a severe headache.

This is getting me so excited! I can't wait to do this now : D

user981 08/ 2/2006 #

This sounds like so much fun, I can't wait!!

Here are some themes I would like for my box:

  4. Handmade/vintage (sparrows, cottagy, tins, small creature etc.)

  5. Relaxing (good read, chips/caramel popcorn, nice lavendar candle and some bath stuff~maybe homemade)

user1817 08/ 2/2006 #

Taire here....this sounds like much fun.

I suppose themes I would enjoy are:

  1. A night in (but not spa-like/bath like stuff)
  2. Crafty-ness
  3. Vintage anything
  4. feminism
  5. writing/journaling

I really don't have much in the realm of dis-likes...so send away.
And if you need clarification on anything...just let me know })i({

user1817 08/ 2/2006 #

I had an after thought..... strike any one of my original themes (I'll lean towards vintage anything...but it doesn't really matter) and replace it with Pirates.

thanks, Taire

user2471 08/ 3/2006 #

Themes: 1. love knitting.... 2. pilates and yoga 3. mystery - books, classic movies, etc. 4. country casual decorating (inviting, relaxing, classy without being rigid or stuffy) 5. love sports, especially hockey and football

I could probably go on and on but I guess that is a good start.

Julie

i would prefer not to get: candles, clowns, potpourri, incense, a package FULL of $1 store items

you can check out my flickr, i'm on the color-iffic swap so you can check out the get to know me topics, there's more links on my profile here too!

i'm easy to please!!!

user1787 08/11/2006 #

Darn it! I timed out too, so let's see if I can remember the ones I put.

  1. Mini scrapbook
  2. Knitting kit - with a pattern and everything
  3. Alaska themed
  4. Chicago themed - I'm a big Cubs fan and I love the windy city
  5. Chocolate - just remember that's very hot where I'm at right now, so nothing that would melt. But I love hot cocoa
  6. Birds - but not cutesy stuff. Maybe something like a bird calendar, etc.
  7. Pedicure themed - including nail polish in some funky color!
  8. Travel
  9. Jane Austen theme

Okay, that's enough. Now for things I'd rather not receive - Candles (I've got enough of those), cutesy items, little statues of things, acrylic yarn, metal knitting needles, anything too heavily scented or too flowery.

This should be fun!

Jill S.

robinb 08/11/2006 #

stephadactyl 08/12/2006 #

hi. i just wanted to say that my partner hasn't posted their list yet, so please everyone make sure you've posted your list, and if you haven't please do, so your partner can start your package. thank you.

user1797 08/16/2006 #

I sent my package to my partner yesterday. I had the most amazing time shopping through lots of different stores to find the perfect themed items : D

user2102 08/22/2006 #

my package went out today to julianne who is 16. I split it up between 2 different things she likes. hope you like the items

user1950 08/22/2006 #

I sent my package off to my swap partner today. The post office made me repack because she didn't like all the stuff on the outside of the box. And wouldn't let me send it priority flat rate box rate because it had a bulge on the one side and it cannot have tape anywhere on the box. Sheesh! I think she was PMSing. Wow. So anyway it is on its' way and should be there shortly. Hope you enjoy.

blufairy19 08/22/2006 #

I sent my package on Friday. Hope she likes it. Hope to that it doesn't arrive broken!

Mizleeza, that's very strange. I have never heard of sending a box that can't have tape on it :\? Maybe it was the wrong kind of tape? If your post office has the automated self-ship center, use that next time. It's a lot faster, they don't complain, and you don't have to wait in line!

user1950 08/22/2006 #

They say that you cannot have tape on the flat rate boxes. And it was their postal tape too. That was what was shocking, because I always tape my boxes closed so that they don't come open in transit. Also that the box has to stay perfectly square is so weird. I really think that she was having a bad day, they seem to have that alot at our PO. I may have to go to the next city and use theirs. Hopefully they have a cheerier disposition on life.

stephadactyl 08/23/2006 #

i'm kinda bummed. my partner still hasn't posted or emailed me a list of themes. i even contacted the swap coordinator a while back to see if she could get in touch with my partner and never heard back. i really wanted to participate, but it's hard when i don't know what to send. i already received the package that was sent to me, which is awesome.

user2102 08/25/2006 #

mizlezza sent me the most awesome package...all scrapbooking items! a package of make your own calendar complete with calendar, papers, and headers. Another memory kit that will make 6 scrapbook pages complete with the glittery embellishments. A bunch of paper,, a small scrapbook a heart shaped scrapbook, some rubber stamps, a pack of 4x6 cards and another container with a variety of embellishments in it. I was in shock...and I thank you very, very much!!!!

blufairy19 08/30/2006 #

I would like to know if my person received their package, at least, so I don't worry. If you didn't like it, that's one thing, but at least let me know it got there. Thanks, Meghan

user1936 09/ 5/2006 #

Im sorry about the mess, I have never got any messages from swap-bot or any of you. I dont doubt you sent them. Thanks for participating everyone.
