If you love Polaroids and Instax instant photos then this is a fun way to send and receive some unusually creative mail. (Thanks to Silencio for sharing this through a pvt swap!) We will send one Polaroid or Instax (wide or mini) photo naked (without envelope) to two other participants. note: PX100 and PX600 instant films from the impossible project are welcome too! Just affix the postage (stamps rather than meter strips please) and write their addy. A little message would be nice (and if you want to doodle or add other art etc. that's fine too). I've used stickers/address labels, ballpoint pens, sharpies, and pens made for writing on photos and non-porous surfaces with success. In my experience you can affix the postage and addy to either side. Though I've never had a problem, please take a photo when you mail them along (as proof of sending). Photos are sender's choice. Quick turnaround since this one is fairly easy! Just post or PM any questions. All are welcome, without any recent 3's or 1's. I love this idea. But I cant seem to find the film anywhere. I've seen it online...for an arm and a leg. Can you tell me where you get the film?

@MichelleZ , Urban Outfitters sells Polaroid film now. You can even buy some film online at: http://shop.the-impossible-project.com/shop/film

Yes, Polaroid film is sadly quite expensive now. Folks are also welcome to use old Polaroids they might have on hand and of course those lucky enough to have a Fuji Instax are in good shape. Anyone else have leads on Polaroid film they can share? Ebay perhaps?

I've actually found film at garage sales for next to nothing....But that takes some looking around.

There is wonderful software out there called Poladroid - http://www.poladroid.net/ - it's free for Windows and Mac, might swappers use that and photo paper?

I heard Polaroid will start re-selling the film here soon. It's very expensive on ebay. shop.the-impossible-project seems to be the cheapest I've seen the film, but I don't know how much the shipping would be

Last summer I got a box of 5 packs from ebay, from a seller in Germany. The article I read about it being available again said it would be specifically for a new camera that was coming out and would not work in existing polaroid cameras.

Also be aware the film on the Impossible site is black and white, they are meant to have the colour available in june

The subject of the photo is up to you. Whatever you think others might find interesting!

My understanding is that the new film is that from the Impossible Project and Polaroid will be producing new cameras compatible with the IP film (which also works in old 600 and SX-70 series cams). I've worked with a few packs of PX100 and it's certainly a unique film. It does have the typical Polaroid dimensions that we are accustomed to but the actual photos look very different. I like them though--very dreamy and many ways to manipulate the film.
