I loved to read as a little girl, and I still do now. Remember your favorite fairy tales and nursery rhymes? Sleeping Beauty and the Seven Dwarves, Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves, The Three Little Pigs, The Twelve Dancing Princesses, The Frog Prince, Humptey Dumptey, The Ugly Duckling, Thumbelina, The Cat and the Fiddle, Hickory Dickory Dock, Rumplestiltskin. . .the list could go on endlessly! For this project you will create two fairy tale or nursery rhyme chunky book pages (4 1/2" X 4")--one for each partner. Be sure to leave a 1/2" unembellished on the left side of the page so it doesn't interefere with binding the book later on. No slick Disney style images, please--think old-fashioned or vintage. And while I'm not going to outlaw this, you might consider doing something besides Alice in Wonderland, as that's a topic that has been beaten to death recently! :) If you choose to print images from the internet, please be sure they are good quality images. Be creative, do your best work--capture the magic! This is totally sender's choice, but if there are particular fairy tales/rhymes you are looking for (or ones you'd rather not receive), you can post them in the comments below for your partner's consideration. If all goes well with this swap, I hope to host it a couple more times so we can gather enough pages for a book. |
