Create a one-of-a-kind background with a coffee filers and just a few supplies.

Coffee filter

Plate

2 or 3 colors of dye ink, refills..

Embossing heat tool

Spritzer bottle with water

This is the list that the instructions call for but I don't always have the right items so I experiment..

I found that food coloring, watercolors or any liquid colors can be used...

and a heat gun is not necessary, you can do several and lay them out to dry ..

You must have water but does not have to be in a spray bottle

Step 1 Drop ink onto a plate in a random pattern. cover an area the same size or bigger than your coffee filter

Step 2 Using water, spritz or dribble water over the ink and let the colors blend together.

Be generous with the water so they blend, but not so much that the colors become muddy.

Step 3 Place the coffee filter over the blended inks and press on it to make sure it is completely covered with ink.

Step 4 Gently crumple the coffee filter into a ball.

Step 5 Spread out the filter and dry. If you use a heat gun be sure to move the heat tool as you dry the filter to avoid burning it. You may see a little smoke here and there..

Step 6 Smooth some of the wrinkles out and then cut the coffee filter to whatever dimension needed for the project. Use Glue stick or your favorite method to make your atc using your newly colored coffee filter....

This can make a great background, or cutouts, shapes, torn strips, use your imagination...

Can you use a blow dryer on low heat?? I don't have a heating tool...

I left it on the laundry line to dry so I don't see why using any specific heating tool would make it any different.
