Description:

While I have been trolling the Swaps for Post stamps, I realized that most require you to send 25-50 post stamps. I think thats great, but not too great for people who are just starting out, like me.

So I have decided to create a swap where you will send two partners 3 nice stamps from your own country. I find that 3 would be a good starting point (6 in total) because then you will receive 3 from two different countries (or different parts of the same country). They must be used and undamaged, and from your own country. If you read the conversation down below, it has been decided that we should keep the paper on the back of some stamps, due to their adhesive being rather... iffy :)

Newbs are welcome with a filled out profile. No no-send's and if you have a lower rating and believe you should join, PM me.

Just as a note for sending the stamps: Please put them inside a piece of card with a little sticky tape around it, so they will not be bent or damaged inside the envelope.

Also, because I like positive things, put in a little note about why you like your country, or where you live. You get out what you put in!

thanks for creating this small swap! however, I understand that sometimes stamps come off poorly when removed from the paper. is it ok to send the stamps with the paper?

TangerineLemons 05/13/2010 #

hmm... well, if you are inexperienced in doing so, It would probably be ok. if you believe that ether someone else could do a better job or that the stamp is difficult, just mention it when you send it to them :)

I will feel better about sending the stamps not removed from the paper.

I am in the USA and most stamps issued after 2008 do not soak well off of paper at all, due to the adhesive that is used. Some say one can use lighter fluid and other chemicals to help dissolve this adhesive but I have not had any luck with this at all. Most times the stamps wind up ripped, or just look like they have been through a battle. I can send older pre 2008 stamps for this swap.

I think I will change the swap so you may send them with the paper on. Just explain WHY the paper is still on, and why it should not be removed! :)

Great I will do that!

Thank you so much for making this swap! I love postage stamps but I am just starting out and this is perfect :)

Thank you. I will probably continue the idea, slowly increasing the postage stamp number.
